How to Log Interactions Automatically with Bcc
By adding a special Bcc address to any email you send, MonkeyPod will automatically log the message as an Email interaction for the recipient(s)— whether you're emailing from Gmail, Outlook, or any other mail client.
If you haven't worked with interactions in MonkeyPod yet, check out this article on how to use interactions.
In general, how does the Bcc function work?
To record an email message as an interaction, simply include a special email address on the Bcc line, and that email will be recorded as an interaction for the recipients directly in MonkeyPod. That means you can send an email to a funder, donor, vendor, volunteer, or any other contact from your Gmail, Outlook, or other mail client and have that interaction added to their record in your MonkeyPod automatically.
To get started, choose Relationships > Interactions from the main menu in your MonkeyPod, then select the Configure tab. You'll find your organization's special MonkeyPod Bcc email address there.

Include that unique email address on the "Bcc" line for any email messages you'd like to record as interactions:

After the message is sent, MonkeyPod records the email as an Email interaction for the recipients. If a matching email isn't found in your MonkeyPod, a new relationship will be created automatically for that contact. The interaction will be recorded for everyone listed in the "To:" or "Cc:" fields of the email message.
Tip: We recommend that you add your special MonkeyPod Bcc email address to your email client's contacts to make it extra easy to use!
Frequently Asked Questions
What if the person I am emailing isn't in my MonkeyPod?
No problem! A relationship record will be created for them and the interaction will be tracked in that new relationship!
What if the person I am emailing is "householded" under another relationship record?
MonkeyPod will log the interaction under the person's own record. You can also view it from the parent (household head) record by selecting Include all household when viewing that record's interactions. In the example below, the highlighted entry belongs to a householded contact and becomes visible once Include all household is selected.
