How to Use the Interaction Feed
Want to be able to use interactions to the fullest in your MonkeyPod? Look no further than the interactions feed!
The Interactions Feed is a chronological log of every meaningful touchpoint between your organization and your supporters — from donations and phone calls to emails, meetings, and more. MonkeyPod records many of these automatically, and you can log others manually. Together, they build a rich history of each relationship. For a full overview, see How to Use Interactions.
The Interactions Feed is a powerful tool for staying on top of constituent engagement, spotting trends in your outreach, and taking action on groups of relationships all at once. Need to see every phone call your team logged last month? Wondering which supporters attended your last event? The interactions feed has you covered.
To get the most out of it, the Interactions page offers three ways to work with your data:
- Search Interactions: Find specific interactions quickly across your entire history, with filters to refine results and bulk action options to act on the relationships you find. Search results are limited to 2,500 interactions.
- Full Feed: A filterable, chronological list of every interaction logged in your MonkeyPod, with the same filtering and bulk action options as Search Interactions (plus the option to filter by relationship role). No limit on results, though it can be slower if you have a very large number of interactions.
- Insights: A visual summary of interaction activity across your organization over time.
This article covers how to work with the Search Interactions tab—instructions can be generalized for the Full Feed tab since the functionality in the Full Feed works the same way, without the search option.
Where is the interactions feed?
You can find the Interactions feed by choosing Relationships > Interactions from the main menu.

Searching your interactions
The Search Interactions tab is the fastest way to zero in on specific interactions across your organization's history. It's a great starting point whether you're pulling together a list for outreach, reviewing activity for a particular program, or just trying to track down a specific touchpoint.
Use the search box to search for terms in the relationship name, relationship email, or interaction. For example, you could search for the name of a Jotform to find all submissions received from that form. Or search for notes entered in interactions to find a relevant meeting or phone call.

Filtering your results
Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow your search.

You can filter by:
- Interaction type (phone call, donation, meeting, etc.)
- Date range
- Recorded by — the MonkeyPod user on your team who logged the interaction
- Tag: In order to filter by tags, you'll need turn on the option to use tags for interactions. To do so, choose My MonkeyPod > Organization Settings from the main menu. Under the Relationships tab, select the option to allow tags on interactions.
Note: The option to filter by relationship role is available only in the Full Feed filters. The Full Feed tab works the same way, without the search option and without the 2,500-result limit. If you need to work with a very large set of interactions and aren't searching for something specific, the Full Feed may be a better starting point — just keep in mind it can be slower when many filters are applied.
Working with your results
Once you have the results you're looking for, you can act on them right from the page using the bulk action buttons.

Options include:
- Export: Exports all the interactions in spreadsheet format. You can choose to include additional details about the relationships involved.
- Subscribe To Mailing List: Adds the relationships involved in the interactions to the chosen mailing list, assuming that there is an email address in their record.
- Record a Bulk Interaction: Create an addition or edit to apply to all the matching relationships.
- Add to a Pipeline: Adds matching relationships to the pipeline selected.
- Assign a Role to All: Assigns a role to all the relationships in the matching interactions.
- Add as Campaign Prospects: Only available when Campaign Tracker is installed.
Getting insights from your interactions
Prefer to see the big picture rather than a list? Click the Insights tab on the Interactions page to see a chart of interaction activity across your entire organization over time.
You can specify the time period using the date selectors, and filter the interactions just as you would for the interaction search, described above. But instead of seeing a list of results, your MonkeyPod will generate a chart for you of the number of interactions that fit your selection criteria over the chosen time period. How awesome is that?!
Here's just one example showing the volume of phone calls recorded throughout 2024 by a particular staff member. It's a great way to spot trends in your outreach at a glance.
