Overview of Organization Settings


Organization Settings provide options for fine tuning how your MonkeyPod can best meet the needs of your unique organization.

You can find your Organization Settings under My MonkeyPod in the main menu.

MonkeyPod's Organization Settings are divided into five areas: Basic Information, MonkeyPod Access, Accounting, Relationships, and Public-Facing Pages, described below.


Basic Info

Basic Info if where you can view or edit your organization name (DBA as well as legal name), address, EIN, and timezone. Note that if you need to change your EIN, you'll need to contact support@monkeypod.io.


MonkeyPod Access

MonkeyPod Access allows you to change the web address (URL) used for your MonkeyPod. Want to customize it to reflect the name of your organization? Enter the text you want here and click "Change Subdomain".


Accounting

The Accounting settings are where you can specify your fiscal year and fine tune the various policies and conventions listed below. You'll also have the option here to close your books after the end of your fiscal year once you have reconciled your transactions from that period.

Policies & Conventions

  • Account numbers: Choose whether accounts should have numbers or not
  • Check writing defaults: Set your default for check writing. For example, whether you print checks from MonkeyPod or use existing check numbers.
  • Line item details: Auto-expand options for adding notes and applying restricted funds 
  • Invoicing defaults: Set your standard invoice terms (like Net 30) and choose whether MonkeyPod should automatically generate reference numbers for invoices.
  • Functional expense allocation: Choose how Shared Expenses should be allocated across top-level Classes by default. Check out Learn About Your Statement of Functional Expenses for details about this report.

Recurring Transactions

When an auto-rebilled recurring transaction (e.g., a monthly donation) fails a rebill attempt, MonkeyPod will try again every 12 hours until the recurring transaction is ended. By default, failed rebills will be rerun 5 times before MonkeyPod automatically ends the recurring transaction to prevent future failures. You can change this setting to whatever makes the most sense for your organization.


Relationships

Name Format: The Relationship settings give you the option of viewing your relationship names with either as "First Last" or "Last, First"—choose what works best for your organization!

Allow Tags on Interactions: Tags help you track a multitude of things in your MonkeyPod and group them all in one location. If you'd like to include interactions among the items that can be tagged, you can set that up here. Learn more about how to use Tags to organize all sorts of information in your MonkeyPod.

Gift Dedications: Enable options for memorial donations or honorary donations here. When selected, these options appear to donors on fundraising pages, embedded donation forms, and manually entered gifts.

Thank You Letters: Select this option if you'd like to use MonkeyPod to track when you have sent thank you letters for a donation. Enter a date to only track thank yous for donations received after that point.


Public-Facing Pages

Some MonkeyPod features (such as fundraising pages and donation receipts) generate content for your donors and other constituents. You can customize the look and feel of those pages to align with the branding of your organization by uploading your logo and setting a color scheme.

If you use Google Analytics, you can track visitor traffic to these public-facing pages by entering your Google Analytics Measurement ID here under Traffic Tracking.
