Overview of Reporting

One of the powerful perks of having MonkeyPod track all of your organization's financial activity is that it can also generate comprehensive reports. From financial and management reports to providing insights on relationships with donors, vendors, and customers—we've got you covered!


What reports come with my MonkeyPod?

MonkeyPod organizes reports into three categories:

  • Accounting & Finance - standard financial reports and 1099-NECs preparation
  • Operations - invoicing, accounts payable, working capital, and budget reports
  • Fundraising & Sales - reports on donor retention, contributions and sales, and fundraising performance

Choose Reports from the main menu to see all the reports available to you.

Can I create my own reports to add to this menu?

Absolutely! You can create and save a custom report to easily run again in the future or share with your team. Saved reports appear in the Reports menu under "Saved Reports"

As an example, let's look at how to run a report on Financial Position and save it. Begin by selecting the Reports menu, and choosing Financial Position under "Accounting & Finance".

Select the timespan you would like to report on (such as "This Fiscal Year") and, for this example, let's say you also want to select the option to compare the financial position to the prior year. Once you have your report settings selected, click "Run Report".

Scroll down to view the report. When you've got the report as you like it, click "Save Report", then give the report a name and click "Save".

Your saved report will now appear in your “Saved Reports” menu in MonkeyPod!

Note: Keep in mind that this saves the report settings, not the report data. So for example, if you run this saved report in a future year, it will be based on that fiscal year since the saved timespan for the report is the fiscal year when the report is run.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can others in my organization use my saved reports?

Yes! Saved reports are visible to everyone in your organization who has access to view reports in MonkeyPod (learn more in our overview of user roles and permissions). This is super helpful because you can create saved reports to highlight insights you want to share with others—making it easy for them to access a current report with one click.
